James Millikin Homestead

The James Millikin Homestead was slated for demolition in the mid-1970's. Over several years, Junior Welfare Asso-ciation raised over $100,000 to save and to renovate the building, which today, is one of Decatur's beautiful historical sites.


 

FUNDRAISERS

Providing financial assistance has been our other major thrust. Our fundraisers have enabled us to provide needed funds for deserving community projects.

JWA Spring Fundraiser - Spring Classic 5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Walk
Saturday, April 25, 2009

Packet Pick-up & Registration: 7:30 - 8:15 a.m.
Run/Walk begins at 9 a.m.
Faries Park Golf Course Pavilion (1 Faries Parkway, Decatur, IL)

  • The 5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Walk will take place on the rolling hills of the old scenic Fairies Park Golf Course.
  • Awards will be handed out at approximately 10:30 a.m. to the top 3 winners per age group per gender and to the overall male & female winners in the 5K Run.
  • The first 200 pre-registered entries will receive a long sleeve t-shirt
  • Post-race refreshments will be available to all participants
  • No pets please
