THE DEBORAH COLLIER MEMORIAL SHOE FUND: The Deborah Collier Memorial Shoe Fund provides shoes for the needy children in Macon County. This project utilizes school district personnel in the identification of children who qualify. This cooperative relationship has nurtured a mutual respect between our organization and the Macon County school systems. Inquire

In 2005, it was brought to our attention that over 800 children and families are homeless. We have learned that many of these children are not in school because they do not have many of the 'basics' that many of us take for granted: shoes, socks, underwear. Our shoe fund will now include these basic needs for homeless children. We will also be working with other community programs to ensure children are placed back in school.

TOTES FOR TOTS: In 1998, “Totes for Tots” was started which provides suitcases and backpacks to children in the Foster Care Program through Lutheran and Family Services and Catholic Charities. With our newly added 'homeless initiative' focus, our Totes for Tots will now include backpacks and school supplies for the homeless children in Decatur and surrounding areas. With our help and the efforts of other community programs, we hope to get these children placed back in school. Inquire
